You've got two options:
Cancel and rebook via Humanitix. Open your order confirmation email and click Manage Order → Refunds, select the ticket you'd like to cancel, then rebook into your preferred wave. Refunds typically take 2–5 business days to return to your original card.
Email us. Send us a message at info@theruggedrace.com with your current wave time and where you'd like to move to, and we'll sort it for you.

Nope - spectator entry is completely free on the day.

Yes - simply pass your ticket confirmation on to them. No name change required.

Full refunds are available 30+ days prior to the event. Open your order confirmation email, click Manage Order, go to the Refunds tab and select the ticket you'd like to cancel. Refunds take 2–5 business days to return to your original card.

Yes - every person on course needs a ticket, including accompanying adults. If you're running the Junior Wave with your child, you'll need your own Junior Wave ticket.
The exception: if you're already registered in an earlier Fun Run or Competitive wave, you're welcome to run the Junior course with your child at no extra cost - no additional ticket required.
Tickets

It depends on your pace. The fastest Competitive Wave participants finish in around 30-45 minutes. Most Fun Run participants complete the course in around 1.5 hours, though you're welcome to take as long as you need. Walkers typically finish in around 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
The Junior Course takes around half this time.

No. You can skip or modify any obstacle - there are no penalties in the Fun Run or Junior waves.
The Competitive Wave has its own rules around obstacles.

Only the Competitive Wave is timed. Fun Run and Junior participants are not timed.

The course runs across the Redbanks property in Nugent, TAS - expect hills, bush trails, and plenty of mud.

No. The course is challenging by design but you set your own pace, and you can skip any obstacle you're not comfortable with.

Absolutely - any obstacle can be skipped or modified, and we encourage people of all abilities to give it a go. The course itself involves uneven terrain, but no obstacle is compulsory.

Yes - every participant receives a Rugged Race headband and temporary tattoo before the race. Cross that finish line and you'll also earn a finisher medal and a complimentary drink. You earned it.
The course

Yes - there's a food court, bar, and festival area open throughout the day.

We recommend arriving at least an hour before your wave time - this gives you enough time to park, register, pick up your headband, grab a coffee, get changed, and drop your bag at bag check before you head to the start line.

We have a bag check on site - simply drop your gear off before your wave and collect it once you're done. Your belongings will be safe and secure with our bag check team throughout the day.

The spectator and festival area is fully wheelchair accessible, with accessible toilets and showers on site.

The Junior Wave is open to participants aged 10 and over.
There is no maximum age.

The Junior course is 3.5km with age-appropriate obstacles.

Yes - all Junior participants must be accompanied by an adult on course. One adult can accompany up to four kids.
Every person on course needs a ticket, including accompanying adults. If you're running the Junior Wave with your child, you'll need your own Junior Wave ticket.

Only as an accompanying adult with a junior participant - the Junior course isn't a standalone option for adults. If you're after a shorter course, we offer a 3.5km Fun Run option

No - the Junior Wave is untimed and designed to be fun and encouraging for kids.
Junior Wave

The Competitive Wave follows the same 7km course and obstacles as the Fun Run, but it's timed with results published after the event. You're racing against the clock and other competitors, with podium prizes up for grabs - and it counts as an official Obstacle Australia qualifying round.

Yes - Competitive Wave participants must complete all obstacles. Major obstacles allow a set number of attempts before a burpee penalty applies. Skipping a minor obstacle will result in disqualification.

Yes - the Rugged Race is an official Obstacle Australia qualifying event.

Obstacle Australia (OA) is the governing body for obstacle course racing in Australia. Competing in the Rugged Race Competitive Wave means your result counts toward OA rankings, giving you the opportunity to qualify for state and national championship events.

Yes - there's no experience requirement. If you want to race hard and get a time, the Competitive Wave is for you.
Competitive Wave

Yes - camping is available Friday and Saturday night. More than 200 unpowered sites are available.

Camping is unpowered. Friday night includes live music and food vendors on site, jackpot golf, and access to Redbanks Lodge bar.

Camping passes are available as an add-on at checkout through Humanitix - $15 per person per night.

All campers must be vacated by 12pm on Sunday

Facilities are available at the Redbanks Lodge only a minutes walk away from the campgrounds.
Facilities include toilets and open bay showers.
